Illinois By Hudson C. Illinois is a great state. It has wonderful things to do, see and learn about.
The first things you should know are some fascinating facts. It is the birthplace of these famous people. The tallest man in the world was Robert Waldow in 1918.He was 8 feet 7 inches. Another famous person was Walt Disney. He was born Dec. 15, 1901. The first Dairy Queen-Joliet was started on June 1940.
The next thing you should know is what to bring. You will need heavy coats in the winter. In the summer, it’s a toasty 76˚. So, in the summer bring shorts and short sleeve shirts.
There are also many things to do. Visit the Brookfeild Zoo and see dolphins, polar bears and more. Another place you should know about is the beautiful, frozen waterfall in Northern Illinois. Challenge yourself to climb the 1,000 meter frozen waterfall. Also the Chicago River “magically” turns green every St. Patrick’s Day because of a man named Mike Butler who dyes it green in honor of the holiday.
I hope you learned lots about Illinois. Enjoy the amazing things there. Make sure to sit and watch the nice green lake on ST. Patrick’s Day.
